Photo Impressionistic Works

This is an ongoing project.  The camera is often seen as a vehicle for documentation, the picture a reproduction of the scene in front of the photographer. However, my goal with this work is to communicate an idea in my mind as opposed to an exact reproduction of the scene in front of the lens. The shutter speed, the movement of the camera or the subject, and the colors in front of the lens are all factors in how the resulting images might look. These images have been created either with intentional camera movement, slow shutter speeds, layering exposures, or a combination of those techniques.

Much of my inspiration for this idea comes from the Impressionist art movement of the 19th century.
